Admit that you are a sinner.  You may not be a "bad" person but Romans 3:23 says that "all have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God"

Believe that Jesus is the Son of God and that he can save you.  In Romans 6:23 the bible says "For the wages of sin is death."  Through His death on the cross, Jesus made a way for us to escape the torments of an eternal hell.

Confess that you are a sinner and ask Jesus to come into your heart and save you.  Romans 6:23 says "For the wages of sin is death," but it continue on to say "but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord."  You must ask for this gift.  He will not force it on you

The Sinners Prayer
Dear God:  I confess that I'm a sinner and I can't save myself.  I believe you sent your Son Jesus to die on the cross to take the penalty of my sins.  I ask you Jesus to come into my life now and save my soul, and take over my life from this point on as my Lord.  In Jesus name I pray, Amen.

Dedicate yourself and your life to Jesus.  If you truly and sincerely followed A,B and C and prayed the prayer, then by God's promise, you are saved.  However, you need to turn your life around and start living for Jesus.  You cannot do this alone.  You need His help.  Dedicate yourself to Him and ask Him to help you in your new life.

Express your faith in Christ publicly.  Follow His example and be baptized and join a local congregation.  You need the association of fellow Christians to continually grow in Christ and to learn about his ways.
